Favorite Poem Friday (#8)

Good morning swooners!

Today i'm posting a poem that I recently discovered in a book that was given to me over the holidays. It's new to me but it's so beautiful that I know i'll always go back to it when I just need to hear (or read) the words. The book is called Love Her Wild by Atticus and each page is a different poem with no name. So today's poem has no name to it but you can tell me what you think it should be called. I have my theories, tell me yours!

What of the firefly,
the one I love to chase?
The old man smiled
Love her
he said
but leave her wild,
and the old oak tree I love to climb?
Love her, he said, but leave her wild
the bird that sings that song I love?
Love her, he said, but leave her wild
and the wolf that cries to the old joke moon?
Love her, he said, but leave her wild
and the horse that loves to run with storms?
Love her, he said, but leave her wild.
And what of her,
the one I love most?
And the old man smiled.
Yes, he said,
you must love her too
but love her wild
and she'll love you.

Quotes (#40)

Morning Swooners!

Happy Valentines Day!!! Today feels like a good day for some quotes! My current read this month is The Adjustment by Suzanne Young so I'm feeling motivated to reread The Program. I'm also obsessed with reading all the things love related lately because as I already mentioned I found myself a love and today is the day of love. So in honor of those two very strong feelings I decided to dedicate todays quotes to The Program by Suzanne Young. I hope they give you just as many feelings as they're giving me!

“If it's meant to be, you'll find each other again.”  ― Suzanne Young, The Program

“You know I'm never going to be able to not kiss you again, right?" he said. "For the rest of my life, every time I look at you, I'll have to kiss you.”  ― Suzanne YoungThe Program

“You're right, you know," he says. "You're just right for me. And I'd bet my life that we've done this before. Because I can't imagine that I wouldn't have fallen in love with you the first time.”  ― Suzanne YoungThe Program

“He's tender and defenseless, as if every part of him is exposed. He's not the asshole I thought he was, not even close. What I see is someone broken and fierce. Someone loyal and hardened. Someone who could belong to me completely, and me to him.”  ― Suzanne YoungThe Program

“I love you madly.”  ― Suzanne YoungThe Program

“He said that some things are better left in the past. And true things are destined to repeat themselves.”  ― Suzanne YoungThe Program

So that's it for me today. I hope everyone has a happy hump day!

I'm Baaaaack!!

Morning Swooners!

So I guess I should start by apologizing for disappearing for half a year! I wish I could tell you that I was busy being a rockstar but sadly that was not the case. I did, however, manage to scrape past the finish line of the hell race that was nursing school so that was pretty significant for me. I've also managed to survive nursing school while struggling with the loss of both my grandparents in the past year. So as you can see it was a pretty bumpy journey that had me all kinds of stressed and busy, but I was lucky enough to have an amazing support system of family and friends, as well as unconditional love from an amazing man that I also get to call my best friend. Their support was the key to my survival!

In the mix of chaos that has been my life I wasn't able to put as much time into reading and writing as I would have liked, but i'm happy to tell you that I think i'm ready to make my grand re-entrance into the blog world again. So with that being said you can expect to see more posts on all the fun things I've read and done this past year and all the fun things i'm looking forward to this year.

I can't wait to get back into the blog world with all of you. I hope you'll rejoin me in this new journey of discovery!
